Yoga therapy is an evolving field which focuses on using evidence-based yogic practices in the treatment of specific health conditions. Yoga therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the integration of mind and body to enhance mental health. This form of therapy draws on yogic principles and practices, such as physical yoga postures, meditation, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises, to improve mental and physical well-being. Unlike what people tend to imagine, yoga therapy does not look like a typical yoga class. Instead, yoga therapy is usually conducted on a one-on-one basis with a therapist. Homework is an important element of yoga therapy so that the practices can be built into the person’s daily life instead of being stand-alone exercises at weekly therapy sessions. In addition, yoga therapy can be particularly effective for treating body-focused conditions, caused due to chronic pain, stress, or trauma that has been stored in the body and manifests through anxiety or depression-related symptoms.

First, you select the session type most convenient for you: 1) In-Home: The coach comes to you in your home. 2) In-Studio: You attend the home studio of your coach to practice, or you meet in another venue, or even outdoors. 3) Virtual: Live, online class from wherever you might be. 4) Program Only: You do your sessions from anywhere via the App Next you'll choose an amount of sessions. Bundles are available for all session types (*except Program Only). All programming is designed for 4-weeks, however the sessions are valid for 6-weeks to allow for flexibility and adaptability for life happenings. Yoga therapy is currently recognized by insurance providers in British Colombia, and it will not be long before the rest of the country follows suit. Keep the receipts from your sessions to submit to your Wellness or Lifestyle Benefits for reimbursement. Alternatively, if prescribed by a Physician or Physiotherapist, Yoga Therapy can be covered under your regular medical benefits as well.
